About Me
Like many, I had no clue what I wanted to do for work when I completed school. My career assessments came back showing interests in people and things - I could work with people in careers such as teacher or social worker, or I could work with things like jet engines or steel construction. Without adequate guidance on how to understand these diverse results, I wandered around careers in the financial sector until returning to graduate school to study Professional Counseling. I received my M.S. and Ed.S. degrees from Georgia State University where (given my personal experience) I was drawn to career counseling within the focus of mental health counseling. Research has shown if I understand who I am and match that to an area of interest, I will be happier in my work and life. That has proven true for me. Add to that the complexities of simply experiencing life from birth to death, and I have the joy of working with beautiful, complicated individuals who want to find pockets of serenity and develop the ability to manage their lives and emotions. A few of the many areas I have experience and enjoy working in:
